Google Update: “Mobile May” Could Change Your Website Ranking. Make Sure Your Website is Mobile-Friendly.
In April 2015, Google changed their algorithm to favor mobile-friendly websites in their search results – due to the fact that more searches are now performed on phones and other mobile devices. As a result, websites that weren’t mobile-friendly were being demoted in search results. This was a major call to action for businesses to get up to speed with the new standards.
Getting good, relevant answers when you search shouldn’t depend on what device you’re using. You should get the best answer possible. whether you’re on a phone, desktop or tablet. Today, Google has now continuing to make the web even more mobile-friendly. This month, they are starting to roll out an update to mobile search results that increase the effect of the ranking signal to help users find even more pages that are relevant and mobile-friendly.
If you’re website is mobile-friendly, you won’t be impacted by this update. If you’re website isn’t mobile-friendly, chances are your pages will be pushed further down in search results.
