Everyone is (not) a Branding Expert

The problem with our business is that everyone thinks they're a designer or a branding expert. There are many "designers" out there who think if they've got a computer and Photoshop and use WordPress to build websites, they're in business. 

Here's an example of how anyone can be a branding "expert" – without the expertise. As part of the Wall Street Journal's Startup of the Year project, musician will.i.am explains where there is a problem with logos. As talented a musician as Mr. will.i.am may be, he's hardly qualified to discuss branding – as made clear by this rather painful video of him sharing his branding "expertise."
