We spent the better part of a year designing the identity, branding and user interface for a brand-new iPad app for News America Marketing, based in Westport, CT. “SmartSource Xpress” basically takes the popular Sunday insert and puts it on the iPad – doing some very cool things in the process – which truly makes it a groundbreaking app.
After downloading the app, users simply enter in their shopper card numbers and then they can start saving right away. You just need to flip through the magazine pages on your iPad, and if there’s a coupon that interests you, all you have to do is tap on it and it will “clip” it and send it right to your shopper card – it’s that easy. In addition, many coupons have videos so you can see the product in action. There’s an area where you can see your savings and you have the ability to print or e-mail your saved coupons for reference.
The app has received a fantastic response from industry trades as well as those who’ve downloaded it in iTunes. It was a lot of fun working on the project and it’s great to see the public reaction to it.
