How the Met inspired a new website design
We paid a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City recently for some inspiration. At the same time, we were working on our new website design, which was taking longer than anticipated. We went to MOMA for the art, but it turned out that the environment itself became the impetus for our new website.
The museum is beautiful but it’s job is to stay in the background and let the artwork take precedence. It got us thinking that our website is a vehicle to show our work and should function similarly. So, hopefully, our new website does just that: Let visitors get to where they want to and view the work in an unobtrusive setting. One of the most important things about design is to keep things simple – in fact you could say the definition of design is to create order out of chaos.
