Working with the Beach Boys – with help from John Stamos
We’ve been working with Brian Wilson and Capitol Records to promote the Beach Boys 50th Anniversary this year, which features a big Summer tour, new album and many other festivities lined up for “America’s Band.” It started last year with the release of “SMiLE,” the Beach Boys legendary album that Brian and the boys left unfinished in 1967. We also produced two video shorts to promote the album, one below, as well as the story behind “Good Vibrations,” as told by Brian Wilson himself.
We had the pleasure of hanging out with Brian at his house one day and he told us how his mother came up with the title. Brian even played it for us on his piano in the Beverly Hills. Life doesn’t get much better than that.
Now that Summer’s about here, we’re working on getting the word out about the Tour and the Beach Boys first new single in over twenty years, “That’s Why God Made The Radio.” Just the other day, actor – and major Beach Boys fan – John Stamos called to let us know he’d love to help us. Needless to say, we promptly put John to work. John’s a really nice, funny guy and the first thing he said he’d do was to Tweet about Brian and the Beach Boys to his 750,000 followers – which was a really nice thing to do. We’ll be catching up with the Boys and Mr. Stamos when the Beach Boys hit New York City next week.
